Defeating the Princess Mentality

Everywhere I look there is nothing but princess stuff. It’s communicated to every little girl who has “good parnts” that she is their little princess.

STOP

Here’s my problem.  Not every little girl is a princess.   Princesses have to act refined.  They have to be Royalty.  They have to hvae a Bloodline that proves they area princess.  Not any girl can be a princess.

UNLESS

She becomes a part of a family through say Like Adoption..  Matter of FactI have been adopted into such a family.  I am a princess.  My husband has also been adopted into the dame family and  he is a prince.

Have you been adopted?

There s ONLY one way my daughter can be a princess …and it is NOT because of me or my husband..
It’s because of Jesus Christ.  He’s the Kingand if my children accpet Christ as their Savior they are adopted into the Christian Family.  They become Christ followers!  They ARE royalty.  Thankfully Tornado and Lady Bug ave both moved into those roles and now we as parents have the task of teaching our children how to act the Christ following prince and princess..

As we teach our children these things I can tell you what a Christ following Prince and Princess is not

They
DO NOT have the entitlement mentality.
DO NOT deserve the best of everything
are NOT spoiled
do NOT think the world revolves around them
do NOT think they are better than anyone else..
.DO NOT think they know everything
Are  NOT given everything they desire

The list could go on and on. And it is a VERY daunting task BUt none the less it is the task I am called do.  Sometimes a take a step back and scratch my head…okay so that happens more often than Not BUT I have made a committment to Both God and my children.

I will do my absolute best to defeat this  world’s princess mentality and raise children who are true Christ followers!

Oh and By the way.  I am not against all those princesses.  I am just not happy with the way the world has promoted what a princess is!

Open house flop!

If you remember I posted for My tackle it Tuesday post that i was focusing on getting our house ready for our Open house on Saturday eveing.  Well that all came to a screetching halt Saturday Morning.  yep All that prep..All that work  All for a very quiet evening at home…What happened you might ask?  Well that is why I am ariting this  post it’s called:

HAND FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE

Are you unfamiliar with the aore mentioned disease?

Well Click here  to learn more about this little gem of a common childhood illness!!

now that you have been familiarized with said gem…Let’s take a look at my Saturday morning.
I lay awake in my bed just thinking of my tasks ahead of me in preparation of our Church open house that evening..WELL Lady bug comes MOANING into our room.  She has a Terrible habit of whining  as it is But you could tell something was wrong.  After asking her a few times to repeat herself since she was in no way understandable i finally got the picture her finger hurt…Big deal I thought I have bigger fish to fry was my initial thought BUT I humored her and looked at her hand and finger..Much to my surprise her hands we covered with Tiny red dots EVERYWHERE!

Not just on her  hands but on her feet forearms knees elbows shoulders, and the back of her neck and some on her chest and belly I let out a yell for Hubby!

He sounded annoyed at first BUT soon we were talking about what this could possibly be..My ultimate fear CHICKEN POX
the bliisters were there BUT they were small.  I called my mom..BUT she was not home from work yet  So i talked with my dad..

he overall thought was chicken Pox HOWEVER…she had been vaccinated!  .We couldn’t get her in to the doctor until; 10 30..PRAISE THE LORD for a doctor’s office that has Saturday hours!  So we waited checking about every half an hours to see what kind of disaster this woould turn into…more blisters appeared FInally it was time for hubby to take her…now the waiting was on…Nothing an hour and a half passed and still nothing.  I was working trying very hard  to keep my mind off of the out come Would we have to cancel…Finally I heard the front door open and Linus began to bark.  THEY”RE HOME!! I dashed to the door to see my little girl with a STICKER..her day was made!! Mine however was turned up side down…The verdict was in Hand foot and mouth disease is HIGHLY contagious!  I had to call EVERYONE in the church directory and tell them we ad to cancel.

The kids were all crushed and so was I since I LOVE doing this every year But we picked a new date and now we are working towards that goal and we are praying no one else gets it.  We have discovered I have had it as a child SOO I am immune however HUBBY HAS NOT!

No church toda!  No school til at least Tuesday…Unleass someone else gets it and we are praying hard that is NOT the case!!!
