Tacklel It Tuesday-Prep for Open House!

Hi all, well I’m back into the swing of this blogging thing again and well I am doing my FIRST Tackle it Tuesday in what feels like a millennium!

As a pastor’s family we host an open house each fall. And that just popped out of no where.  It has been in my calendar since…FEBRUARY!!!

Well I have lots to do on my house to get it ready so this weeks tackle is basically a To Do List and hopefully if there is time I will post pictures..

  • Clean walls (NOTE TO SELF: next time you think you want to paint walls white..SLAP YOURSELF!)
  • our bedroom needs organized
  • craft room needs reworked and CLEANED!
  • Clean laundry pile in hubby’s offices folded and put away
  • Paint wall in downstairs bathroom (NOTE TO SELF : never EVER let a can of paint in house..even if you think the door is locked….The kids WILL find and WILL use it to finger paint on the walls!)
  • Clean out fridge
  • Finish sorting James Clothes and out tub/ bags away
  • straighten whole house…
  • clean under beds
  • Prepare food

Some of that stuff is just NORMAL but others well…I think the list says it all
Happy Tackling

Yesterday’s events!

YIKES. i am tired….the biggest benefit for me today is two fold. a) the kids and I slept in until 8 am…I am usually up between 5 and 6 30! and B) I have absolutely NO WHERE TO DO TODAY!!! YAHOO.

Yesterday was an absolutely full day…it started at about 6…I had to get Tornado and Lady Bug out the door by 8 15 for school when daddy came home to pick them up….

The kids were not cooperative AT ALL it took the the better part of an hour to eat their bowls of cereal…My kids are usually great eaters BUT they were all over the place that morning…So I was feeding Little bean his bottle…Got the two oldest off to school then began the cooking.  I had to make Baked beans AND chili for a funeral dinner at church…Not to mention clean up the whole house in order for the baby sitter to come at1 30 so Hubby and I could go to the funeral

Since hubby did the funeral we had to be there early…So I did all the stuff necessary for the two dishes in the correct crockpots and called the lady who was going to pick them up….

Now to check on weasel!  He was being good watching Veggie tales in the basement and I would see him every 20 to 30 minutes asking for food.  11 30 Little Bean has been screaming ALL morning which is totally unlike his jovial little self SOOOO I had to vacuum holding him…dust holding him….then I fed him at 11 40…Hubby and the two older kids rolled in around  12 05 then I made lunch, rest of dishes….Got dressed for funeral did hair all that jazz…then the babysitter came…grief instructions…Found out later i forgot to tell her where the diapers were!

Then off to funeral at 1 40
Funeral at 2
Went back to church to help with meal.
LOTS of bustling around
330 people started arriving from the graveside service
Meal provided  items checked  So on…
440 food grabbed to eat
5 took gentleman home
5 10 went home made dinner for babysitter and her daughter and husband …we all had to be at AWANA back at church in an hour
6 00 pm…next baby sitter arrives to watch little bea we need to find shoes coats and cubbies vests and bags for AWANA
6 20 out the door for AWANA
625 at the church  for AWANA…Did I mention I was teaching Cubbies for the first time at our church and I had only had the material since the previous day
630 AWNA opening
815 AWNA OVER  (there was a lot of stuff in between But I am not sure I can remember it all)
845 HOME
talked with Baby sitter for about an hour…my brain officially shut down!
10 00 crashed on couch with Weasel insisting on playing with cars…I was too tired to care LOL
1100 BED
$ 30 AM Little Bean INSISTED  on being fed REALLY?? You have been done with night feeding for over 3 months now? Oh well Slept til 8 NO complaints..
THAT WAS MY DAY IN A NUTSHELL  AND VERY GLAD I DON NOT HAVE TO REPEAT IT AGAIN TODAY!

A great big THANK YOU for all of those who made yesterday go off without a hitch
And an even bigger thank you to the good LORD above who helped me keep my mind in tact!

Monday and it has been a long week already!

The rest of the week promises to be just as exciting as today was. It’s funny we have friends who can tell you pretty much what each day holds. Minus emergencies of family proportions BUT as a pastor’s family you have to be ready for everyone ele’s family emergencies too.  I’m okay with this.  I always have been.  Matter of fact I like being helpful and I love being able to show GOD’S love through my service.

It is hard to watch people hurting so much BUT the joys outweigh the bad by a long shot.  Seeing people come to a saving knowledge of Christ…seeing believer’s reconnect with their redeemer and both children and adults alike discover something new about their Savior.

We have now watched two of our children come to a saving knowledge of Christ and what a blessing that has been!! Tornado and Lady Bug both witinh two or three weeks of turning 4 chose to follow Cheist,   Now we have the daunting task of discipling them….

It seems as though everytime you have the slightest doubt in whay you taught or said God answers it with a big “Idon’t think so”

It’s wonderful that it is Him who opens hearts and minds and not just the words hubby or I say…because then NO ONE would ever understand!….

LORD you are truely amazing and tahnk you so much for using hubby and I .  We want to serve you All the days of our lives!!! Please help us to keep that focus! AMEN!

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
Psalm 104:18-35
Davis is taling about how God takes care of everything and provides for everything..He provides for every living thing on the earth so why are we so shocked when God provides for us in such amazing ways!

Then Sings My Soul Saturday-Indescribable

Last Sunday We sang this song….I love this song….I love the fact that Chris Tomlin has such amazing worship music!!

This morning as i sit and ponder today’s date i wondered what to write about….the only thing that was resounding was this song!!

But so many would ask why this about God on such an anniversary as today??

My response is simp[y this: God allows sin….what happened to the twin towers was sin…yet God used it for good in innumerable lives….Adam and Eve choose sin….which set into place the need for a redeemer.   Jesus that redeemer was put on a cross , that was sin…Jesus asked God to “forgive them for they know not what they do” And  the most amazing  blessing of all came from that that sin….a way for us to enter into heaven …without Jesus we have no hope…God is his all knowing and all poiwerful ways knew peole needed to to know Him as their personal redeemer.  He used this awful occurance to draw so many people to Himself both those who have never known Him and those who have strayed  away….AND THAT IS WHY THIS SONG MEANS SO MUCH ON A DAY LIKE TODAY!
