Thankful Thursday- I’m back

Wow it has been a while since I have written a thankful Thursday…Or any post for that matter.

I am so thankful for so many things BUT what am I most thankful for today?

TECHNOLOGY!!!

About 4 or so months ago our family was having dinner with another family.

The family said that they knew of people who were entertaining missionaries and those missionaries were coming down hard on the pastor’s family who  had a dishwasher a washing machine and dryer and and a microwave….the missionary was saying that the pastor’s family had it way too easy and without missing a beat the pastor’s wife said why do you say all of that…you have hired servants in your home (which is very customary in other countries)  These are are just my hired servants who just don’t happen to breathe or talk.

Well today I am SOOO thankful that I have technology in my home.
I have  a dishwasher, a clothes washer and dryer…an oven and not a fire…a kitchen aid mixer and a microwave!  And I just want to say a great big thank you to the  Lord of heaven who gave wisdom to men to create these wonderful machines….You knew I would need them and use them everyday!

BOOK REVIEW: The X and Y of Buy By Elizabeth Pace

_80_140_Book.62.cover.jpg

The X and Y of Buy explores the concepts using in how to market to gender specific targets.  What techniques work best for wich gender and why!   The book Looks at hoe the male and female brain function and what draws each gender through the processing of a purchase.  The book explains how to do a great job at reaching your marketing base!

I have to admit that I had no idea that this book was intended for those in the marketing field.  It’s description at the time was a bit deceiving BUT Overall I learned a lot from this book!  It is not an easy read…Especially if you are not familiar with marketing terms (as I am not).  However i will say this. It was an enlightening read.  It showed me why i am more drawn to things that my husband, and viice versa!   I really found the chapters most interesting on how the male and female brains function an think through the purchasing process!  it has really helped me in thinking through the reasons I am purchasing something Like  “do I really need this” or “Am I just drawn to an attractive display?’

If you enjoy figuring out why you thin (or shop) the  way you do then check this book out! Just have a dictionary close By and if you are working in the Marketing field well then this is a MUST READ!  Just beware I have read the book too!
