I Missed A Day Already

It hasn’t been a week yet and I missed day already So here is a combined post for yesterday and today.

I am working on completing a one year bible reading schedule I started a few years ago! The only reason that I want to finish it..besides the fact that I hate leaving things undone, is I was writing out one to two sentences about what I had picked up from reading the passages.

So the dates I am on are Aug 27 & 28 ….It was back in 2004. I had been away on Vacation to PEI and I had forgotten my devotional stuff so I read something else..Right after I got back from the trip I got pregnant with Tornado so that threw everything into a tizzy as well…And it has been crazy ever since!

So I am in the Books of Job, Proverbs, and Ephesians.

I have been able to understand Job more over the last few weeks than ever before , it’s amazing to see how you can read and re-read something time and time again and not understand it until the Holy Spirit opens your eyes and heart to it.

This has been the case for me and the book of Job. I particularly struggled with why exactly Job was wrong…yes I have read the end of Job Many many times..and if you read all of it in the wrong tome than you can misunderstand many things in life. (This is why I would much rather talk to a person face to face or over the phone than email or letters..because I am left to determine the tone and that never seems to turn out in my favor) Anyway so through reading Job again…and focusing on the end, I am finally getting the big picture.

Job talks throughout the book about being blameless and having done nothing wrong….he has no fault..he is innocent. The problem is that Job is a man. The story of Job has been placed on the time line of biblical events to have happened after The Fall..yet before Noah and the Flood. So Job is a sinner linked back to when Adam and Eve fell into sin. So therefore in a way Job is elevating himself to a god-like position.

God points this out to Job by pummeling him with question after question…with the likes of were you there when the foundations of the earth were laid? Do you understand how this works and that works. Job was given no time to answer with over 20 questions asked….when God finally stops Job is left humbled with not much to say for himself. So God starts in again….

This is where I am for today. I understand the problem with Job now. We do not understand the reason for the plans God has for us. Nor should we because I think in some cases I would run away with my proverbial tail between my legs!

Jeremiah 29:11 says..

For I know the thoughts (plans) I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Speaking of this promise. I saw the Good Morning America interview with robin Roberts and the Chapman family and wow what an amazing story of a family who seems to be really living out the faith to that verse! What an encouragement!

Battles Waged

We had a GREAT weekend! Hubby and the kids walked around the lake (that’s 3 Miles)On Saturday he took Just Tornado and Lady bug. Vug wasn’t awake yet so he slept a while longer. On Sunday Hubby took all three. Now you may ask how can he take all three. He wasn’t by himself either of those days. hid parents were also at the Conference!!

The two toddlers were in the double Stroller and Vug was in a front pack on Hubby! They had a great time.

We didn’t get any pictures this weekend but I can tell you of some happenings that occurred.
Friday

  1. Got to camp and set up
  2. In the middle of the night had a huge Thunderstorm that lasted hours (no we didn’t get soaked)

Saturday

  1. Went swimming in the pool (Tornado hates this, but remarkably he is always the one who begs to go)
  2. Had lunch at dining hall
  3. Were going to go to the concert but we decided that we didn’t want to overload the kids so we played with the kids in the open field near our camp site
  4. Another huge thunderstorm (no we didn’t get soaked)

Sunday

  1. Hubby and kids walked around the lake
  2. Church services..a good friend was the speaker
  3. Pappy took tornado and Lady bug to play at the play ground around the hedge row from our camp site…He put Tornado and Lady bug on One end of the Teeter totter and himself on the other end….What ensued resulted in these pictures

Yep you guessed it he fell off. He didn’t fall very far but it was enough to give him that nice Shine!

After lunch and their nap he got to go play with grandma at the Big play ground hear the pool. They played in the sand box and miniature golf, baseball, tether ball and lots of other fun things while mommy and daddy broke camp and packed up. We had dinner at the dinning hall and then went to the evening services. I managed to get sick during the service..due to something i ate..Once It was out of my system i was perfectly fine..Beginning to end 1 hour! It was so weird!

The camp is so amazing with a huge lake the camp offers Pontoon boats. rowboats canoes, paddle boats and a speedboat where you can water ski and tubing!

They also have a swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts Shuffle board and miniature golf course, tether ball, 2 playgrounds, a Huge camper section, cottages, tent sites, a motel and a huge array of sports equipment. You don’t have to bring your own. And A game room with all sorts of table games! Not to mention all the great speakers. you get two sessions everyday but that still leaves plenty of time to enjoy the outdoors and make some great friends!

Well I have a huge pile of stuff down in our den that is just calling me to unpack it So i will write again soon!

Simple Woman’s day book #4

For Today Aug 4, 2008

Outside my Window...Sun and a cool morning

I am thinking…I wish I felt better. I got crazy sick last night right before we left the Bible Conference…Half way through the message I got really sick…it wasn’t pretty luckily I was able to sneak out!

I am thankful for…a chance to get away this weekend. It was very needed and I enjoyed it thoroughly!

From the kitchen...I have no idea…i didn’t get my menus done for the week

I am creating...Sock bags. I am very tired of having lost and unsorted socks. So I am making a set of 6 sock bags. When socks get taken off of a per son they get put directly in the repective sock bag. Then on wash day the socks AND THE BAG get tossed into the washing machine!Yes that is too many no I am not pregnant. I just figured since I am setting up to do this I might as well go ahead and make the extra since we would love to SOMEDAY have a fourth child!

I am going...To the store hopefully before Thursday…We need to get a B-day present for Lady Bug!

I am wearing...White shorts with black stripes down the sides, a red Marvin the Martian T-Shirt bare feet with Red painted toenails and a messy bun in my hair

I am reading…Defuse by Karol Ladd

I am hoping..To feel better so i can get some stuff done today..Like unpacking!

I am hearing...The fan of the computer and an occasional call from tornado downstairs!

Around the house…Laundry! And unpacking..the kitchen floor desperately needs swept and mopped too!

One of my favorite things...Cheese Nips when I feel sick!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week…get back into the Word. I am not just talking about devos but deep BIBLE study! Rework our daily schedules. Some down time to recuperate!

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you…
Tornado hurt his eye while on a Teeter Totter at Camp!
