Simple Woman’s Da yBook

FOR TODAY (August 11, 2008)…

Outside My Window…A very cool and gray morning with an occasional rumble of thunder

I am thinking…about a weekend that should have been a ton of fun but instead turned into a weekend where a close friend showed his true colors and I really feel as though through this he ended a once very close friendship

I am thankful for…a husband who understands and isn’t a tyrannt with me or our children!!!Oh yeah and kids who are happy and can be themselves!!

From the kitchen…Egg bake, Roast chicken with potatoes Birthday cupcakes

I am wearing…Purple satin Pj’s, bare feet and messy bun!!

I am creating… a home with lots of love..hopefully where mercy and grace abound!

I am going…no where. I have recently grown to love staying at home. So i am going no where until
Friday night when we have our night out!

I am reading…Defuse; the Bible…finishing up Job and Ephesians and starting the book of Proverbs

I am hoping…to have a peaceful and relaxing week. i need it after this one

I am hearing…the crying and fussing of my three year old as he is awake too early and doesn’t want to go back to sleep

Around the house…lots to do from the weekend. i need find somethings that were moved on me!

One of my favorite things… to watch a movie and read with my family..This is our Sunday
night routine!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: get the house back in order; get some much needed rest; enjoy my children a little more than I have been as of late; and take a break to enjoy the moments we are living!

Here is picture thought I am sharing.

There were actually three and they were a surprise on Wednesday night. What a wonderful husband!

She Turns Two

Lady Bug turns two today…And bot looking back has she changed. She is
such a beautiful little girl!!With Captivating eye s and an electric
smile. What a joy she is. Here are a few pictures to mark today’s
events!
This is Lady Bug a few days after she was born

And this is her today..with her birthday presents..not the dolls or the back pack but the stroller and high chair…

This
was her dinner..She didn’t have cake for dinner ..Ok so maybe in a way
she did!. Her favorite is pancakes. So i made chocolate chip pancakes
with cool whip and blueberry syrup and sprinkles.

She loved it!!!
She wasn’t quite sure what t make of the candles though
She tried and tried to blow them out but it just didn’t work!
So someone had to help after the 5th or 6th try!!

And this is the aftermath…by the way that is tapioca pudding!!

She didn’t want her picture taken so she closed her eyes thinking..if I can’t see you you surely can’t see me!!

We will have Birthday cupcakes when our friends come up for a visit this weekend. their daughter turns one in a week!

A Few Things!

Life has been a little insane around here as of late. Not as insane as a few months ago but. I have been up to some great things..First off I feel tons better and thanks for all of your prayers!

Luckily it seems as though Hubby and the kids are on the free and clear!

Then there are the two new blogs which I am enjoying immensely!

Then there is Lady Bug’s Birthday which is tomorrow and she will be turning two.

We are having friends come up for a long over due visit this weekend! They have two little girls and a baby on the way!

Then there is our new schedules. I have mapped out my day. I have bucked against it for so long and now that I have done it my days aren’t so bad.

I have also implemented my Side-Tracked Home Executive’s card file in an all new way.

Instead of combining all of my cards..(Blue, white, pink & yellow) into the amount to get done for the day..the yellows are the card file and the other colors get put on my to-do list. I was setting myself up for failure by putting a whole ton more stuff on my to-do list..along with ALL the cards..

Something the speaker said this weekend drove this home in a powerful way. Sometimes as Christians we expect ourselves to be perfect. That’s not our job..that’s God’s and someday we will attain that when we enter Glory but for now I am to do my best and be all that God has called me to be….

So what is that you might ask..well I have been thinking a lot about that…and here it goes:

  • God has called me to be a faithful follower 1 Thessalonians 5:11-23
  • I am called to be a wife and mother…A virtuous woman Proverbs 31:10-31
  • I am called to teach and mentor younger woman Titus 2:3-5
  • A child of the king
  • I am called to a life of full-time service (however that may show itself)
  • And finally I am called to be a writer. I love to write and I love to blog. My goal is to be published and there are some great ties I have to do so. So at this point it’s more than a dream, it’s having faith in God to bring it to pass!
