Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you..

The one in the dead center in a spaghetti squash which I mentioned that looks so huge. The farmer said it was probably cross pollinated with something else..the white one next to it is also a spaghetti squash and that is what it is supposed to look like..It is also large for the variety but not as big as the green/orangey one next to it!..And yes they were both 50 cents each which is incredible!!

6th Picture Fun

A couple of my friends…Diana and Ruth have participated in a fun little activity where you go to your picture files and post your 6th picture from your 6th file…So now it’s my turn and here it is:

It’s a picture of our camp site this past summer. We have grown to love camping at this campsite at a near by Bible conference. We love it and so do our kids!!!

What I learned this weekend…

1. Non-rechargeable batters don’t belong in a battery charger! (oops!)

2. toddlers and grocery carts don’t mix! Here’s the proof.

Yes that is a bloody Jacket hood. it was saturated

Yes that is 3 staples in my little Girls head

3. Some churches just can’t accept the word “NO”

All of these things have fairly interesting stories behind them…The most interesting of which is how Lady bug (yes it was my little girl) got three staples on the side of her head!

Well we were grocery shopping on Friday night. She was riding in the back of a cart…she usually sits very well however she must have seen something she wanted and stood up…As she did so we think her jacket got caught on a shelf and she fell out of the cart hitting her head on the corner of a sharp shelf…She landed on her feet.

She cried and cried and Hubby scooped her up. He was trying to console her when people from the store started Sir sir she’s bleeding. There was blood on the floor and blood all down hubby’s back! He took off to the bathroom! I was left standing dumbstruck with two carts and two kids!…I waited and waited and waited. He never came back for me so pulling one cart and pushing another I made my way to the front of the store where I saw hubby and Lady Bug perched on a counter and hubby was on the phone. Instinctively I knew who he was talking to but I had to know for sure…Yep it was a 9-1-1 dispatcher. Shakily I showed s a cashier where it happened and checked out.

The paramedics showed up and wrapped up her head as though she had just had Major brain surgery! She hated it but it was kinda cute (NoW!). We then decided we would take her to the ER ourselves…since she landed on her feet We got to the hospital and went through a fast track.. She got three staples and she didn’t cry until the last one. I think i would have been crying from the very beginning but the little bug had been bouncing off the walls since i got her there. She was climbing everywhere!

At the end of it all she got a very cute teddy bear and a whole stack of Stickies as she calls them (stickers)…She was a Pied piper as we left the hospital. And I can safely say I NEVER want to go through that AGAIN!

Needless to say whenever we go to the grocery store we will be taking the double stroller with us!

My Walk Monday

I really like this definition of what a Pharisee is. It is so simple and plain and true!

As of the last few months I have struggled with being on the other end of being Pharisaical. Perhaps at times i have been a Pharisee myself but it has been 5 years of listening to others (a couple of friends) who judged everyone on their parenting skills including my s husband and myself. It came to a head a few months back and we have not spoken since but ever since that moment I have been constantly evaluating my parenting method through Scripture. I must say that the moments of hearing cutting words whether intended or not really took a toll on our friendship. I do not harbor hard feelings just sadness at a friendship lost.

I am my own worst critic when it comes to my kids behaviors that is why we dove deep into God’s Word and tried to understand what biblical discipline looked like! Here is what we found. You can check it out if you like!

Discipline Done Biblically!

We love our kids so much and there comes a point when if someone is coming down hard on you in front of your kids you must put an end to it lest you be looked down upon by your own children. We should not let that happen. I challenge you to see if that needs to happen in a circumstance in your own life

My Walk Monday!

My Walk Monday
I know I have missed a week or two but I have been super busy. the good news is that i have not been to busy for my devos. I have however been too busy to blog about them.

So Last Monday I started a 30 day challenge of daily devotions and journaling. It was a form I got with some free homeschooling stuff and I thought that I would give it a whirl. I like it mostly but this morning as I sat doing my reading and I Got to the first question which reads

“how is God’s Word speaking to you”

I paused for a moment and thought. it said nothing to me. How many times does that happen? how many times do i read God’s word and nothing profound happens. No lights click on, no nothing!

I immediately felt guilty because as believers we are programmed to believe that God’s Word ALWAYS has to speak to us…however as I thought about this I began to realize something. God was speaking to my heart and he was saying

Why do they call it devotions?

Well i can tell you it’s not because I want to get something out of it. It’s because I want to show God that I am DEVOTED to Him. That I take time out for Him and that I enjoy learning from His word He has given to me!

So No I do not always have to get something out of it and no God’s word doesn’t always have to speak to me!

That being said. This thirty day challenge has been great and I have been convicted of some things and I have also been shown some amazing pictures of who God is! Bu there is no reason why we should feel guilty if we don’t get anything from our devotions…After all it is we that are giving God the time and honor He deserves!
