It’s Been a Month…..

It's Been A Montha Month…a whole month?   REALLY? Tomorrow marks a month since I last posted , and it’s not because of a lack of want.   it’s been a very crazy month and i wish I could say it was going to get better.   Actually it will…..once we leave on vacations, but until then the month coming will hold some fun!

It had been a pretty focused month …and then it happened last week….I got sick.   I have not been sick all winter…I would start down the cold road and then I would take extra vitamins and then Id be fine.My seeds That needed to be are all started…They aren’t really doing much BUT they are started at least!I had my laptop sitting next to last week, open all ready to write but my arms ached so BAD!  I just rolled over and went to sleep.

So here are some of th things we have accomplished over the last month

  1. Little Bean turned 6
  2. Picnics
  3. Weasels’s 3rd quarterly report was written and sent in.
  4. Homeschool curriculum for grade 3 has been purchased  and recieveed
  5. Letter of Intent to homeschool has been sent in
  6. Away has been completed
  7. we acquired a second set of college stdents (related to a class that they take in the special education degree)  they spend 25 hours with a family over the course of a semester.   For whatever reason the second set couldn’t finish out their hours with their assigned family so we were asked if we could fit in another set.  this was a fourth semester participating in this program…a lot of this college kids don’t…or can’t connect but the group we had this semester really connected wonderfully with weasel…..they were simply amazing!
  8. My stack of reading is GOING NO WHERE FAST!   I just had too many things going on at once, but soon I will have more time once homeschooling is done for the year.
  9. we (my Women’s Bible study group that I leadI) put on this AMZING Ladies Brunch….. And we are beginning to form the foundation of a a thriving women Ministry in our church.  this was really time consuming, BUT it’s what I am called to do and I love it!
  10. we are getting ready to kick off our next ladies Bible study  using Rest Assured By Vicki Courtney which I reviewed here a couple of months ago.  I have fallen in Love with the book and it is beginning a 4 level Bible study series spanning 4 books
    1. Rest Assured
    2. The Best Yes
    3. Thrive
    4. Fervent
  11. and even though I have been silent on the blog, I have been writing.   There is a blog series pending the release of Stacey Thacker’s book  Fresh Out of Amazing.   This series of blog posts has been shall we say….HARD!  that seems like such an understatement.
  12. There have been people in my life who need me…not just my hubby and kids.  I have some friends who are really going through some really hard things…unthinkable things.  sad things.  and I will be there for them.  I made a determination a year ago that I would be that friend that God uses to be a light….(I write this as Michael W. Smith’s song I will be Here for You come on)
  13. We also have another Bible study meeting here in our home.
  14. and there are somethings I just can’t share.   tThey quite possibly could require “new Normal’s”    But we are willing.  That’s really what God asks of us, is willingness.  Usually based around our “i’ll never…” statements..
  15. Little Bean accepted christ as his Savior,  then later that week, 3 young girls from our church followed suit!  what an amazing blessing…Did I mention Little Bean accepted Christ on MOTHER”S DAY    🙂
  16. Hubby and I celebrated 13 years of marriage..while I was sick 🙁
  17. Tomorrow is Hubby’s Birthday!

Well there is a look inside our last month.  You will be hearing more from me more often I have some really neat thing coming down the line including a weekly project Post, sharing my latest creations and  a snapshot into my planner….I have been using The Happy Planner for the last 7 months and boy am I loving it.    There will also be some  Why I do what I do posts, inspired by Rest Assured and The Best yes, So won’t you Stay tuned in the coming days weeks and months as we jump into writing again!  I promise It won’t be a month till you hear from me again !

Blessings

Blogging Within My Mission

Hi all,

So it’s been no secret that I have not been around much. Life has been busy and I wear so very many hats!  And sometimes I have to throw off all my other hats in order to take care of a hat that grows exceptionally heavy…..usually it’s the one with a husband, four kids and a house crammed inside of it.

And over the last year or so I have become increasingly uncomfortable with all the…”this is how you should blog”. And the “you aren’t doing things right”. Critics out there.   I also have a lot of personal critics in my life wondering “why do you waste your time doing that” and “How can you possibly have time for all that you do?”   And to be completely honest I think that Satan has used those critics to spread seeds of doubt, and frankly I have come to the realization that I was letting him!

Did I whine and complain….maybe on the inside a little convincing myself that I had nothing anybody wanted to hear.   And everywhere you turn, people are oh so concerned about numbers……numbers!  Ugh, I’ve always hated Math! It’s a necessary evil in my mind!   Anyway, over the last 8 months I have spent A LOT of time reading and praying.   And while we were on vacation in July , I stole away a few times and focused on me.  Ways to better me.  And one of those things that I did was write my own personal mission statement.

Each year I write out goals but rarely if ever meet them.  I pick books based on areas of my life in which I desire to grow…..along with knowing I will review some as well. I choose them according to the areas that are focus points in my life.  I then also choose fiction that maybe I either missed out on in school or something that strikes my fancy! (No none of them are Romance novels….ICK)

So I wrote this Mission statement….

It is my mission to live my life with the sole purpose to give God the glory in everything I say and do-to abide in Christ, to grow in my daily walk with Him.

It’s nothing fancy and I know it’s not short and sweet like five words or less BUT IT WORKS FOR ME.

I then added action statements for each of my main focus area in my life.  These areas include

  • My Daily walk with God…it’s a relationship and like any good fruitful relationship it takes nurturing.
  • My hubby….I love him dearly
  • The munchkins…yep four smiling, funny, keep me on my toes munchkins!
  • My home…..I want it to be a safe haven for all who cross it’s threshold .
  • My ministry….which is 2 fold, the people of our church, and my readers here on my blog!
Here is what my action statement under Ministry says
To intentionally challenge fellow women who love Jesus to grow deeper in their walk with God.  To speak truth in love and encourage women to be bold in their faith.

My summer hiatus ends!

Hi guys, I know it has been a long while but life has been….shall we say hectic. That seems like the BIGGEST understatement but it is as good as I have got right now. We have completely moved everything here from the parsonage. I have unpacked boxes, hosted missionaries, pulled a couple of kids teeth, went away for a week to PA, and ya know what if I kept going you would get bored really fast!

One of the biggest things that has been taking my time is a readjusting of priorities! I joined an online bible study called Good Morning Girls; this study is based out of Proverbs 31. I started this study back in May when we were in Michigan and I have just started week 10! This study has truly changed me! The last two weeks have been two of the hardest in my life. I know harder days could come but through it all I have stayed consistent and not neglected God’s Word when I SHOULD BE DOING other things. There is always something more to be done but every morning I need to check my heart and motives! Oh and another thing……my distraction level has been way down. I have ADOS (Attention Deficit Ohhhh Shiny). No seriously it has been a struggle since I was a kid and I am, with God’s help, accomplishing some great things!

So what is the plan for the rest of the summer? To keep going! I had my doubts as to how all this would work out with all of the kids at home (lets just say it didn’t work out like I planned on paper!) but I think it is actually going better. I want to do a couple of things here on the blog before the summer is out. I want to host my first giveaway! I want to post my first video tutorial! Do some housekeeping! AND show you our new house via a couple of videos! I am excited about some new things rolling around in my head! So have a blessed day!

Ultimate Blog Party Post 2012

Ultimate Blog Party 2012

Hi all,

Pardon me I’m running Late! It has been a very busy weekend and I have been away pretty much since Thursday Afternoon. I am so sorry I am late to the Party but my hubby and I wanted to invite you for what is left of it!

Welcome to our New home. We have been living here for about 2 months now and LOVE it!

My Hubby is a pastor here in our own little corner of New York state! We have four kids ranging in age from 6 1/2 to almost 2!

They bring such joy and sunshine and we love them dearly!

Come sit outside on our back porch and enjoy the view and the sounds!

Just imagine hearing turkeys, ducks, and geese…OH and the most heavenly sound EVER! PEEPERS!   What?? You don’t know what peepers are. Well they are small frogs that live in and near water. Basically they are tree frogs, and in case you didn’t know this I LOVE FROGS. We have even found one climbing on our house!

If you are around our house either early morning or at night fall you might just catch a glimpse of some deer and one even has a fawn.

Let me introduce myself. I am Mary. My hubby and I have been married for almost 9 years and as I mentioned before we have four kids and a chocolate lab who thinks he is a kid 🙂 I am into scrap-booking, card-making and pretty much ANYTHING crafty! I am an avid reader and I love to serve whenever and wherever possible!

We have been living in this part of NY for three years now and just LOVE it. This is my Blog:  Walking the Walk! It is the place where I journal about the ups and downs of our daily walk in Christ and though it has been sparse as of late due to our recent move I am slowly getting back into the swing of things! I have been blogging for four or five years now and I love it! It is my own personal little place to escape from all the stresses of life and connect and reconnect with friends!

Well I hope you have enjoyed your stay and POP in ANYTIME!. I love to entertain and have visitors!

Oh and if you have no clue what is going on here hop on over to 5 Minutes for mom and JOIN THE PARTY!!!! They are giving away tons of prizes and having lots of fun doing so!
