Chivalry is still alive!

How many girls can brag that “Tim McGraw rescued me from a potentially dangerous situation” Here’s the story that was posted on a local news website!

McGraw Gets Violent With Rowdy Fan At Concert The country singer threatened to punch a man who was harassing a woman in the audience at a concert. Wednesday, June 25, 2008 Country music star Tim McGraw rescued a female fan at a concert on Tuesday by dragging an overzealous man onstage and threatening to to punch him. The “Indian Outlaw” hitmaker was performing a concert in Auburn, Washington when he spotted a male fan harassing a woman in the audience. And McGraw didn’t hesitate to come to the woman’s defense – pulling the man onto the stage and threatening to hit him before security escorted him off the premises and turned him over to police. A spokesperson for McGraw says, “While Tim was performing at the White River Amphitheater in Auburn, Washington last night, he watched a man rush to the front of the stage. This overly aggressive fan attacked a female fan and Tim witnessed this incident. Tim called for security, but when they could not respond quick enough, Tim and several crew members removed the fan from the audience where he was then turned over to the local authorities.” Check out the video: Photo Copyright Getty Images Copyright World Entertainment News Network 2008

Now how’s that for bragging rights. I am so thankful that there are at least a few guys that will stand up for a girl who is being pushed around or harassed! I am also thankful that I am married to one of those guys!

THANKS HONEY!!!

A New Life

Today was a totally new experience for us. For two and a half years my husband has been the associate pastor of his dad’s church. For the last 2 months we have spent traveling the states east of the Mississippi trying canidating at churches. Last Sunday was a particularly add day as my husband was coming home from a dear friend’s funeral. We weren’t able to make it to the morning service so we tried for the evening service without realizing that the particular church we were trying to attend cancelled services for Father’s Day because no one attended (just evening) So today was the first Sunday was the first Sunday in a very long time that we were not a part of the service. Now some of you may sneer at that and say yes you were. And I agree with you. But there is an oh so special connection that a pastor has. One that I see in my husband, mt father-in-law. And quite a few other pastor’s who I have gotten the privledge to know! They just aren’t themselves when they are the “spectators” in a service. It’s not that they show boat or enjoy the attention. It is an ever intense connection with people. I have seen similar things in my own father growing up. My dad got very injured when I was a kid in his place of work. He was laid off and later fired. He went stir crazy. My husband is not that bad off but it is also deeper than that. I wish I could explain it oh so much more eloquently than I have but there is just a special connection between a pastor and his congregation. So what happens when a pastor doesn’t have a congregation. Well I can’t tell you exactly. It is a strange occurance. I will keep you posted (pun intended) As our family embarks on this journey! 🙂

My Walk Mondays

I guess if you haven’t been keeping up on my blog you didn’t know that our family has hit some trying Times. Canidating hasn’t gone well and we had one of the biggest set backs this last week. We have also had our Sister-in-law hit by a car (she’s fine) and the same day that happened a dear friend of our had a devastating car accident that would eventually leave his wife a widow and his children fatherless. So hubby flew to Utah this past Wednesday for the memorial service. Friday has he was driving to said family’s home he himself was in a car accident! He also is fine! In the midst of all this Chaos I had the opportunity to attend something called the Ladies Advance held here in New York! the first speaker whom I kow personally really impacted me the most. She first spoke on psalm 62 in her main session and then on Psalm 57 in her workshop. I learned something so very important from that workshop. So many times people tell you not to pray for the same things over and over again…however in this Psalm we learn that David prayed for something over and over and over again. In the Gospels we learn that Christ Himself prayed not once but 3 times that the burden of the cross be taken away from Him! Remember He was fully God and FULLY Human too! He didn’t WANT to die like that. but at the end of it all his ultimate desire was to do God’s will. And finally the one Mrs Arp forgot was the Apostle Paul who prayed numerous times that his “thorn in the flesh be removed from him.” We don’t know what exactly that thorn in the flesh is but many speculate that it has something to do with his eyes. perhaps a lasting reminder of the blindness he experienced on the road to Damascus. that being said God wants us to tell him all my thoughts and desires. And though he knows my innermost thoughts He longs for me to share them with Him. I have always struggled with Prayer but this lesson that I have learned has pushed me to become a better Prayer warrior and to not give up praying about what I am going through!! Thanks Mrs. Arp!!
