71 THINGS ABOOUT MY HUSBAND!

  1. My husband has red hair
  2. He Plays the violin
  3. He has been playing violin since he was four
  4. Hubby loves to be in school
  5. He has three degrees but has worked on 5 total
  6. He will someday finish his PhD is Linguistics
  7. He took Creek and Hebrew together in college and did very well!
  8. Our senior year of college in the first semester he took 30 credits. 24 at our college and 6 through correspondence through Moody!
  9. He got a 4.0 that semester! And the one after that!
  10. Hubby also plays the trumpet
  11. He is an excellent artist.
  12. He makes beautiful furniture
  13. He has a degree in Wood Products engineering
  14. He has been called a true craftsman
  15. we planned our honeymoon as a surprise for me!
  16. He has helped build a church
  17. he almost fell head first off the roof of that church. Like head dangling off the edge when he finally stopped sliding
  18. He loves the West…as in west of the Mississippi
  19. He can drive standard…
  20. and learned AFTER we bought a brand new standard car!
  21. He is a born tigger
  22. He isa an early bird
  23. I have learned more from his teaching and preaching that I have learned fom any other college prof or pastor!
  24. He has taken Aramaic
  25. he finished a four year bible degree in 2and a half years!
  26. He played Soccer in High school
  27. He has one brother
  28. He has always wanted a sister!
  29. I am convinced he can fix anything..and he has some proof!
  30. He is a great writer
  31. he is a great dad.
  32. He makes great forts out of all and I do mean all the mattresses in our house!
  33. he has arthritis
  34. he loves lemon meringue Pie
  35. He thinks I am a great cook
  36. He has remodeled almost out whole house and has not hired a single person. His dad did help paint though
  37. He installs showers and kitchen counter tops into multi million dollar homes!
  38. He has been through most of the lower 48 states
  39. He is a pastor
  40. he has been ordained
  41. he lost about 40 lbs the year after we were married (work related…he now looks normal again!
  42. He sang in choir in college
  43. He played inermurral Volleyball and Soccer in College
  44. We have ministered on a drama team together
  45. That drama team performed in NYC together
  46. He was on a World Champion Odyssey of the Mind Team
  47. He has driven from Southern Florida to Detroit MI without stopping…Yes that means NO SLEEP!
  48. He was an RA in college
  49. He worked as night security guard at our college
  50. He has worked at UPS
  51. he loves old TV shows…I think that my fault
  52. Hubby has his own library which takes up a whole room in our basement and you can hardly walk in it!
  53. He numbers his books just like the Dewey decimal system
  54. He has taken huge pews and cut them down so they can fit in a normal sized church…And you could never tell that he had them all apart!
  55. I was his first and last girlfriend!
  56. He is a gentleman
  57. He loves his kids
  58. he is funny!
  59. he loves classical music
  60. He like Steven Curtis Chapman music
  61. Plays Apples to Apples Very well
  62. Almost got hit by lightning as a kid
  63. Lived at a bible conference one summer

  66. Has played with community orchestras and college orchestras since he was in high school
  67. Enjoys camping

  69. Deuteronomy is his favorite book of the Bible

  71. once tried to load my foot into a UPS truck when he was sleeping!

My Friend Jen Nominated me for ANOTHER Award!!!

Thanks Jen!!

Jen and I have been friends for three or four years now. We get together once a week…Or at least we try!

But now along with this award I must answer some questions and then nominate 5 friends…So who will it be? First let’s take care of those questions!

1. Do you have the same friends since childhood? Nope not really! I moved far away!

2. What do you value most about your friends? Faith friendships and unconditional love. We are all sinners and no-one is perfect!

3. Are your friends your sounding boards? Not normally. Well that is unless you count bloggy Friends!

4. What is your favorite activity to share with your friends? Crafts , Bloggy things and I really enjoy growing spiritually together with friends through Bible Study!

So why did I pick these ladies well let me tell you each one of them have been great in some way.

Ruth…Ruth and I went to college together though we weren’t friends per se! Though now I regret that! I have learned a lot since we found each other through her sister’s blog this past year! And That leads me to Diana…

Diana is Ruth’s sister…well sister in law…whom I also went to college with and we were friends in college!. We found each other through a blog ring on Xanga that was set up by students at the college we both graduated from. Both Ruth and Diana have great blogs that have given me great ideas and challenged me personally

Then there is Monica who is a wife of a chaplain who is in the middle east at this point. She and I have a lot in common. One of which is that she also has three kids three and under. She has twin daughters who are three and a son who is about one or one and a half! She gives a wonderful insight into the ministry of a military chaplain..Oh yeah Did I mention she lives In Germany…One place I desperately want to visit someday!

Then there’s Michelle who is a missionary along with her husband and family is Ensenada Mexico to the deaf. She has been such a light to me from the very beginning of my bloggy existence. Though she and her family are going through a time of testing right now she had continued to be a source of light and Laughter!

And last but definitely not least is Carolyn who has battled some things last year has come through witha beautiful smile! She is so creative and it’s great to see all of her creative abilities!
I hope to get to know her more over the coming months!

Simple Woman’s Daybook!

For Today…October 20, 2008

Outside my Window…Crisp Gorgeous fall Morning! The sun is bright and the leaves are almost all gone!

I am thinking..It’s a lot cooler here than Long Island!!!

From the learning rooms…No school today Daddy is home VERY sick from Work…So the day is spent cuddling on the couch keeping daddy warm!!! The furnace came on this morning too!!!Our two little furnaces work like magic all cuddled up next to daddy!

I am thankful for…safety traveling to and from long Island!

From the kitchen…Nothing I have no milk, one egg and a half loaf of bread…I guess I have to get creative!

I am wearing…Navy Blue Pants with gray stripes down the sides , a teal sweatshirt with flowers embroidered around the neck line! and purple snowflake socks. I don’t match and I don’t care. I was so cold this morning I grabbed the warmest things i could find!

I am reading…the book of psalms and a very old sewing book!

I am hoping…tTo get some time to crochet today!

I am creating…Granny squares to be made into a quilt of sorts for my sewing room!

I am hearing…Bonanza episodes from the living room!

Around the house…Unpacking, unpacking and even more unpacking!

One of my favorite things…Sunny days. I have a VERY mild case of Seasonal effect disorder and I cherish every sunny day because I know all to soon they will be gone!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week…Unpacked and put away. Prep for next big house project. New bathroom counter sink and coats of paint! Oh yeah and new floor too!

Thankful Thursday

So what am I thankful for this blessed Thursday Morning (actually it’s Tuesday night I am writing this so There are a few speculative ones!)

  • I am thankful that Ladybug was not seriously injured when she fell out of a grocery cart that past Friday night. She won a trip to the emergency room and three staples in her head! However she was a real trooper an got a cute teddy bear and a stack of stickies (stickers) which made her night
  • That we had a great time at a local pumpkin patch. Saturday morning into the afternoon we had SOOO much fun as a family despite the scary antics of Lady bug the night before!
  • Hopefully by this point we have made it to our destination safely and that we were well rested by Thursday morning!
  • For another opportunity to candidate at another church!
