FALL PROJECT!

It seems as though as soon as fall weather hits out comes the tea , hot cocoa, and coffee and the sewing stuff so here’s my newest project of sorts…It’s granny squares that will get sewn together to make an afghan. Last week I mentioned in my day book entry that I was learning . I taught myself how by studying and studying some more a crochet pattern. (I am not very good at deciphering them. However after MANY hours I figured it out And here is what I have so far.

NOTE: the two in the middle with the edging are completed and the rest will get the same white edging on them.. I am being way more aggressive with projects this year!

So you may wonder where exactly i learned about these. Well a few years ago Hubby’s grandmother gave me a bunch of pre-made ones. I loved them BUT I had no idea what to do with them..So I decided to make an adventure of it. And thanks to a set of books from the 60’s and 70’s…AND YouTube, I was able to figure it out!

So here is what inspired me!

My Walk Monday

Psalm 3:3
But You, O Lord, are a shield 1for me,
My glory and cthe One who lifts up my head.
The New King James Version. Nashville : Thomas Nelson, 1982, S. Ps 3:3

This verse struck me a while ago and I have not been able to get it out of my head.

As parents when we scold our children for what they have done wrong and they put their heads down and they won’t look us in the eye, or as a kid when we were so saddened by the way we were picked on in school and our parents came into our rooms and tried their hardest what is the one thing they would do. Whether it is shame or sadness or some other emotion there are times when we don’t want to look others in the eyes.

However those who are closest to us mothers, fathers, grandparents, siblings, Spouses or friends that come along side of us in very dark times and lift our head to look them in the eyes. That is the relationship God has with David. Your boss wouldn’t lift your head up if you were sad (ok maybe if you were great friends) but my point is that God’s relationship is so deep with David that they have that father son Relationship not dictator-subject relationship! And we can have that kind of relationship with God too! How amazing is that!!!!

I Thought About Taking a Picture of Myself But…

I didn’t want to scare anybody! Something freakish happened to me this morning that I still don’t fully understand but it really changed the way I looked for about two hours! I was sitting in my rocking chair watching a TV show when my right eye started to water. I try to keep my fingers away from my eyes so I used my sleeve of a zip up jacket I was wearing to brush away the tears. (no I was not crying..My eyes tend to water a lot especially with allergies and headaches..i didn’t have a headache so I just assumed it was mild allergy symptoms…Boy was I wrong. I never have experienced allergies like I did today. Within minutes my right eye was almost completely swelled shut. I only had a small slit to see through and my left eye was working on catching up. Then all of a sudden my whole face started to itch…I thought I was going to go nuts. the last time I itched this bad was when i had my allergy test in High school. The determination I was allergic to everything in the state of PA except for cats. (the funny thing is I am allergic to cats and not to dogs but the test showed otherwise..lol) I remember digging my fingernails into the bed as I laid on my stomach waiting for the doctor to return to see the results…What torture The only thing I wanted to dig my nails into today was my face which i managed to refrain from doing to myself Praise the LORD!!!. I went to the bathroom to splash cold water on my face but what I saw when i turned on the light was scary. I looked as though I had Bells palsy (that’s where one side of your face becomes paralyzed and droops terribly). My right side of my face was all swollen and droopy. I looked like I was 60! I freaked! I called hubby to let him know what was going on! He was in the middle of something and that he would call back in 15 minutes. So I took an allergy pill which I prayed would work faster than normal..And then I took a shower. by this point my right arm was itching furiously as well. I am pretty sure that there was something on the jacket that caused this issue ! The problem is that once histamines start flying through your body you can have an allergic reaction anywhere so I was praying that all would work together and quickly…So after my shower my face was still itching quite a bit but some of the swelling had begun to subside! I used some astringent on my face to help clean away any missed residue. However I looked as though I had been punched my eye was still so swollen. Even the top eye lid was swollen. Now as I sit here writing this I have almost returned to normal. The jacket is in the washing machine as we speak and hopefully makeup will now cover my darkened eyes! But you wouldn’t have wanted to see it!

Thankful Thursday

Well I am so very thankful this week for a couple of things so here it goes

  • First i am thankful for a safe trip to and from Long Island!
  • Secondly i am thankful for a God who gives us wisdom as to what He wants for us! Though the trip did not turn out as we had hoped we came back with much needed answers to many questions!.
  • I am so thankful that i serve a God who does not leave us floundering in the dark when it comes to our lives! Although we don’t know where God wants us for our future ministry we can be rest assured that we know where He does not want us! And we know for certain that this IS where He wants us for the time being!
  • I am also thankful that Hubby is feeling much better! He was quite sick while we were away.
  • And lastly I am thankful That lady Bug got her staples out Last night!!! YAY!

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!!!!!
