A NOT so WORDLESS Wednesday-Vacation Installemnt 4

I know I know..I posted day 5 and 6 before 4 BUT 4 Was still on Hubby’s computer and I just did not have the time…BUT I have taken the time tonight mostly for the sake of my sanity! In this installment you will see the Country Music Hall Of fame, the Home of former president Andrew Jackson called the Hermitage in Nashville and also various places in Southern Kentucky hit by the awful Ice storm which I am sure they are still cleaning up from!

Cool factoid…this was the original log cabin that Jackson and his family built on the property…it stood two stories tall but after the house was built it was turned into slave quarters. The two story log cabin was thought to be too good for slaves so they ripped out the bottom layer completely and they lived in what was originally the second floor! SOUTHERN KENTUCKY’S ICE AFTERMATH!

We stopped at Abraham Lincoln’s Birthplace BUT it was closed due to the severity of damage. Hubby was able to get some shots of the damage!
Also Abraham Lincoln’s Birthplace…What destruction! This concludes Our tour of Kentucky and Nashville as we experienced nearly 3 weeks ago.i can’t believe it has been that long…so much has happened since then and it has been such a great joy to share it with you!

FOR TODAY (February 16, 2009)… Outside My Window…Sunshine Everywhere..Snow melting…somewhat! I am thinking…I have 5 days til we are back in our new home except for this time it is really ours! I am thankful for…God’s protection…He kept our family from something scary From the learning rooms…PBS kids…Awful I know From the kitchen.. Pork shoulder picnic. Roasting all afternoon I am wearing.Jeans..lavender top with a cream zip up hoodie over the top of that sock and sneaks I am creating..a House full of boxes!!!! I am going…no where til Friday and that is when we take our first load to the new house! I am reading..My Bible when I can…It’s awful…i love to read and study God’s word and It’s been such a struggle to not put in as much time as I would like! I am hoping..No more sickness strikes our little packing plant! Around the house Packing cleaning…Packing …no laundry..no dishes…Packing….Sorting and did I mention packing! One of my favorite things.Chocolate truffle Cake…What I got hubby for Valentines day…IT WAS SO YUMMY! A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week…PACKING!!! That’s all i do is live and breathe packing…I am going to start having nightmares about cardboard boxes…Packing tape and scissors! A picture I am sharing with you….I would love to share with you a picture of what Hubby got for me for valentines Day BUT I have lost our camera AGAIN…Amongst the stacks of boxes and all the other things I have going on!

SWAK Carnival Entry #4-Our Wedding

WellOur wedding day. It was mixed with lots of emotions BUT it was Mixed with A LOT of humor too. It definitely fit our personalities!!! First off let’s get it out. We got married the same day we graduated from college…there now you can tell us how crazy we are BUT it worked best for us! So may things happened our wedding day. Lets start with the hubby..He lost his pants…yes he looked and his suit pants weren’t in his closet so his wonderful brother ran to the mall and got him a brand new pair…. Then our fish didn’t show up…friends were going to get gold fish for the center pieces on the tables..Didn’t happen so friends of ours went and got them… Then there was the pastor who asked Who gives this man…Hubby’s mom chirped up and said we do..Everyone held their breath…UNTIL I laughed….The pastor corrected himself. My dad answered and sat down..Hubby was left to lift my veil However my dad remembered he was supposed to dot hat Jumped up put my veil back kidded me and sat down Then there was the unity candle…with which i splashed myself with HOT wax all up my arm! My ring bearer almost puked on my gown and we have a ton of pictures of our hug before Hubby Kissed me! Despite all of this we laughed! Matter of fact we are STILL laughing!!! We left for our three week honeymoon..which also had two mishaps we laugh about today…Hubby got a ticket in Harrisburg while trying to get to the capital building…The painted arrow said we could turn one way..A tiny sign said we couldn’t. Guess which one we didn’t see and then there was the locking our keys in the car in Lancaster…Praise the Lord we had GM service! Despite all of the mishaps and no it wasn’t perfect we had a wonderful time and we have some great atories to tell our kids and grandkids!
