Peace in the Dentist Chair

It almost makes me want to giggle! Let me start of by saying: I HATE DENTISTS! I have had some horrible experiences with gum hacking hygienists, dentists who complain that American dentists don’t have any clue what they are doing, and filthy offices.

Well today I met a dentist that is not necessarily perfect BUT REAL.
After a very extensive series of x-rays, the dentist came in to talk to me, rather quickly. No waiting is a great thing!

The dentist was funny, to say the least, which is very relaxing. Two things stuck out besides the very neat and clean office….
1. His dogs have free reign.
2. He didn’t wear shoes.

I was happy and totally relaxed. Even when he told me I had an abscessed tooth. I have full confidence in this dentist. He came highly recommended. So after my round of antibiotics I will be sitting back in that chair next Thursday but with a new sense of peace!

When Staying Home from Church is theBiggest Ministry I could Have!

Yesterday (Sunday) i missed church.that used to drive me crazy for a couple of reasons….
1. I love going to church
2. I had ministries i led.
3. It was possibly the only social interaction I had for the week
4 . I love hearing my husband speak.
5. Growing/ learning from God’s Word.

But over the years i have come to realize…
1. There is always 1 more church service to Attend.
2. My ministries will still be there next week..or the week after!
3.social interaction is sometimes overrated
4. I can have my husband recap his messages
5. I can grow and learn from God’s word whenever i so choose!

AND FINALLY….
I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN MINISTER TO MY CHILD WHEN THEY ARE SICK!

That’s special…every kid just wants their mommy…even if it is only to play on my iPad! I’m showing grace , love concern and care. I am showing them how Jesus cared for those who were suffering. And yes it changed my plans, but which was more beneficial….directing more Sunday of play practice or impacting a soul for eternity.

If my kids can’t see Jesus in me, everything else i do is utterly worthless!

Playing Catch up….30 Day Gratitude Photo Challenge Days 8-16

Day 8 MEMORIES

This is my brothers, some cousins and I with our grandmother who passed away last Christmas. What sweet memories!

Day 9- HOLIDAYS

It doesn’t matter the holiday, I love it and I try to make it as special for my family as possible!

Day 10- KINDNESS

Sometimes it’s thoughtfulness! Someone got us three bottles of this coffee syrup, just because they remembered we keep it on hand! That made me feel very special!

Day 11-FRIENDSHIP

I am thankful my daughter has a best friend! Something I missed out on as a kid!

Day 12- MUSIC

Music is a huge part of our family,we have a gazillion violins, a trumpet or two, some guitars, a couple of recorders, the piano, and the flute….oh and of course a couple of radios. If it is not being played, SOMEONE IS ALWAYS SINGING TO THE TOP OF THEIR LUNGS! I can count on it.

Day 13-TIME

I love seeing my husband take time with our kids, which is oh so important, even with the littlest one!

Day 14- CREATIVITY

I did not make these though i know the person who did. I am a very creative person, which means I love to Create. These decorations allow me to take it one step further, I leave the heart and star up all year and just change the decoration with each holiday!

On another note, my favorite quote as of late is this…..
Creativity is good Theology….see Genesis 1:1!

Day 15-FAMILY

I would never say they are perfect but they most certainly are very special!

Day 16- INSPIRATION
I HAVE NO PICTURES OF THOSE WHO INSPIRE ME! They are believers who have gone on before me. Those who have been persecuted, those who were accused and yet found innocent. They are the women who fought to keep their families together and draw others to Christ! They are the apostles, disciples, and Jesus himself. People I have never met but look forward to the day I will!
