We also did a new kind of Egg that gives a marbled effect…All you need is equal portions of food coloring, White Vinegar, and Vegetable oil (about 1 tsp) to about a cup of water Swirl quickly with a spooon Dip in quickly and remove quickly

More of hubby’s art work!

We also did a couple of eggs using rubber bands. Wrap the rubber bands around the eggs and dip into food coloring mixture..You can also do two colors by dying an egg one color then wrapping rubber bands around the eggs and dipping into another color ee5.JPG

This was my favorite egg-a marbled agg in Pink–I love Easter!

Passed Down From Generation to Generation-Pickled Eggs Recipe

Pickled Eggs I have a few nationalities running through my veins Two of which are very prevelant. My great grandmother was 100% Cherokee Indian. My moms moms mom..Now my mom’s dad’s family had a very uncommon German name for here in the U.S. Not to mention other great Grandparents also had German background….With that comes some GREAT and NOT-SO-GREAT family recipes. Some German food I love and some I find just plain yucky-namely rotting Cabbage (commonly known as Sauerkraut) I love my German heritage so much so I took three years of German at the public school attended So I am going to share my family recipe for Pickled Eggs and I want to tell you it’s not your common Pickled Egg recipe–NO SUGAR OR SWEET STUFF HERE! So lets get started

First you start off with those Brightly colored Easter eggs you just hate to destry- Go ahead Crack um you’ll make more next year! And if you save too long no one will want to go near them

Pickledeggs1.JPG

Make sure you Take ALL the shells off and RINSE the eggs well..No one likes crunchy pickled eggs Then you’ll put them in a BIG jar. I used almost 2 dozen eggs. I saved two out for Lady Bug and Tornado to crack and eat
pickledeggs2.JPG

Then I add 2 cans of sliced Beets–This is VERY Important–don NOT add Dill pickle Juice! Also do NOT drain the Beet juice off That is what is going to turn your eggs into the pretty pink/purple color

pickledeggs3.JPG

Next you are going to add apple cider vinegar until the contents are almost covered…Don’t be afraid of adding too much-do not add water! At this point my mom would add salt HOWEVER we have found that you really don’t need it!

pickledeggs4.JPG

Nest if you are using a metal lid place a plastic ziploc bag over the jar top and screw on the lid… If you don’t the vinegar will rust your lid and you would be shocked at how quickly that will happen..Our family has one huge jar like this just for pickled eggs…They don’t late very long despite the amopunt we fix
pickledeggs5.JPG

And finally put them in the fridge overnight and the next morning you will have thes
e wonderful treats for breakfast!! pickledeggs6.JPGE
ver since I was very young this has been a huge part of Easter and I am so thrilled to be able to pass it on to my family! As you can see they are a huge hit–yhry even like the beets!

As you can see they love them…Right down to the last bit

“Please Don’t Get Offended”

You know it’s funny how we as Christians get worried about what unsaved
people think. This is so true that I found myself sitting in church
last Sunday evening listening to my husband speaking about the
crucifixion of Christ on the Cross when I noticed a woman I have never
seen before with her young daughter–probably a tween ! Hubby’s message
was talking about rhe terribleness of all that Christ had to go
through-His sacrice for us–afterall it was communion Sunday at our
church! When I noticed that woman and her daughter sitting there I
began to think to myself-“oh my I hope she is not offened, I hope she
understands ” I shocked myself I stopped and thought “no she should be
shocked-she should be apalled and then she should be moved to accept
that sacrifice that Jesus made for us” I have no idea who that woman
was. I have no idea if I will ever see her or her daughter again! But I
know that they heard the gospel as plain as day and that my hubby did
an amazing job communicating the horrific sacrifice Christ was willing
to make for us. I have no idea why I have gotten to trhat position of
worrying aabout what unbelievers think of my faith but but from this
point on I want those who are unbelievers to be uncomfortable, to be
shocked and dismayed at the way Christ was treated and be open to let
the Bible’s truthes sink in. If you get offened that too bad because
it’s you who is not letting God work in your heart Not me. If I don’t
share my faith with you because I fear offending you then that is my
fault!

A True Blessing

Last night at church I was stopped but one of the teens in our Youth
Group at our new church! What a sweet girl she is too. On Saturday she
asked me what my favorite color was and I told her green…She
surprised me by handing me this gorgeous pair of earrings! And she made
them herself. What a special church to be training their children in
such a way!
