Sucked In

As I sit here and I am writing this I scratch my head in wonderment.   I have been duped.   Satan Achieved at bringing me down a notch or two….or a hundred…..

 

Back about 4 months ago I found a TV show  that sparked my interest.  I love gymnastics and I have always loved watching it.  It takes so much grace , poise and stregth to be a gymnast and ALMOST every little girl loves watching it.  Actually In mu hometown growing up we had a male gymnast who made it to the olympics!matter oif fact he graduated from the high school I sttended my freshman through Junior years.  So again my interest peeked.

 

As i began to watch the show it was seemingly harmless….No swearing at all which impressed me immensely.  Then one of the actresses looked so familiar But I couldn’t place her…..Finally after seeing an interview I knew she was.   She is Candace Cameron Bure Otherwise known as DJ Tanner from the 90’s hit TV show full house, sister to former child star and now known for his most recent role in Fireproof- Kirk Cameron.

Over the last few years I have  read a few articles about Candace and her faith and was so amazed at the stand she took.   But now as I have some questions….I am not judging her faith but he convictions and I seriously wonder if she really sees that her testimony is at stake.  Does she realize that by being a part of this show she is putting her stamp of approval on a couple of underlying issues that the show potrays as “OK”

1. Pre-marital sex is okay if the person really loves each other and they are ready

2.  Emily had the right to choose to keep her baby….eluding to the fact that it was okay if she aborted it….

3.And in the latest episode  it was “OK” that Max was bi-sexual….

 

Now I am not a bully…I have had friends who are  gay….BUT I hold to the TRUTH that there is right and wrong.   The Bible clearly states that Sex outside of Marriage is wrong, Murder is wrong, and that ANYTHING outside of HUSBAND and WIFE is wrong!  If you are a believer of Jesus Christ and you believe the BIBLE you have No business taking part of something that goes contrary to that…..

NOW that eing said I am at fault too.  I got sucked in to the story line and my love for gymnastics.   BUT I will not be watching it again.  NO more..NOT a chance.

 

I am sorry Lord for allowing  my judgement to be impaired by my own desires.   I am so sorry i put garbage in. And please Lord help me to focus on those things of Pure content as listed in Phil. 4.8…Help me to communicate to those around me that being Salt and Light does not mean I should be taking a part in the same things that goes against what the You set forth in  your word! In Jesus name Amen

Ultimate Blog Party 2011

Greetings all,
Welcome to my new home!

Some things may look VERY familiar to some of you….that is because you knew me originally as happy mama.  and my old Blog was HAPPY HOME!

This past fall I moved in here! AND I LOVE IT!

So let’s get on with the introductions-shall we.

My name is Mary.  I am a pastor’s wife and we live in not so sunny NY state!
I have a WONDERFUL hubby and that is EXACTLY what i refer to him as here..HUBBY.  I am also a mom to four kiddos all under 5 1/2 and NOPE none of them are twins and we have not adopted…YET!

Let’s introduce them….they are Tornado, he is 5 1/2 and is in  Pre-K.  He loves Cowboys and the Civil War….So much so that for Christmas hubby made him a Union  Army  Uniform and he proudly wears his Sergeant stripes!

Lady bug is Next in Line- She is 4 1/2.  and at4 1/2 she sports her own Crazy style.  She is allowed to dress like that only when there is  no other peaple around So you may not see her sporting such craziness!

Weasel is next .  he turned three in the fall and he really is our comic relief.   he has so many nicknames itis unbelievable and when you ask him what his name is he will answer with ALL of them attached.   his smile and his eyes will egt him anything from other people SOOO watch out!

And Little Bean…what a cutie. He will turn a year old this month and he LOVES everyone.  He is such a happy little guy BUT a bit small for his age!  Over the last six months it has been a struggle to keep the weight on him.  He has endured many tests at such a young age But nothing has been found.   He is a mover and perhaps that is why.

And lastly our beloved family pet. LINUS . We originally had two Chocolate labs BUT alas we had to get rid of Lucy…DO you get it now!   It’s like having a fifth little kid.  he will turn two this month So the lineup  is complete!

What we say…..

can literally change the world… or at least the world  of someone close to us.  Our speech impacts and touches so many people……My kids for instance need to know that i love them.  this can be a real struggle when the kids get into stuff they are not supposed and yet there are those times that you catch yourself saying something that you are left scratching your head asking yourself  “Did I really just say that?”

Well I have had some of those moments over the last few months and i have kept them until now!

  • Please don’t try to stand in the potty to go poop again1
  • Please don’t sit on the potty Like that
  • take that Garbage can off your head
  • Don’t try hanging the dog
  • Whatever you do PLEASE don’t knock MORE teeth loose

and Finally…

  • .Please don’t put your feet in the Potty

I never really thought I would ever have to say that A SECOND time to the same kid….But alas i look back on these little sayings i think that i could have really lost my temper but instead I chose to laugh…..I think so many times as Parents or spouses we forget to laugh….

Choose to laugh if you or your spouse can’t find keys and then make spares when you find them again…..It what you choose your reaction to be…you cannot choose your circumstances but you CAn choose your attitude AND your words!

Seriously? You’re kidding me Right?!?

As i sat checking my email this morning i saw a picture of a cute little polar bear staring at me in Yahoo’s news feed.   I clicked on the link to read this cutie’s story! 

Have you heard of Him his name is Knut…he was a four year old polar bear residing in the Berlin Zoo.  Here is just one ofmany news links you can find concerning KNUT

I think Animals are great.  i have been an animal lover my entire life.  i remember my dirst trip to a zoo and all of them since them,

knut died this past weekend, and the outpouring over the death of this bear has my head swimming and not for the best reasons either. 

i for the life of me cannot comprehend the emotion that the death of this four year old bear brings.   the type of mourning that is being reported is that of someone who has lost a best friend, a spuse or a child.  not an animal they viewed at a zoo. There was no persoanl connection with the animal, there was no daily contact with it as there is with a family pet.

One woman was quoted as saying ” she went to see the bear everyday and that the bear helped her through the mourning  of her husband’s death”

How is this possible?  i am not quite sure how i can see this as being useful!!!  ITWASA POLAR BEAR IN A HABITAT!!!!!  She didn’t get to pet him like a dog or cat.  She didn’t get to cuddle with it as the elderly get to with rehabilitation animals and it didn’t  save anyones life like a serive dog is trained to do!

As i looked at the pictures i asked myself a couple of Questions.  i don’t the answers to them NOT by ANY means BUT it is something that needs to be asked!

1.  Why has a bear taken the placde of god?  I mean really that woman I mentioned found her solace in a bear…Yet the bear did’t doefor her sins and the bear Will NOT get her to heaven Yet her peace was the bear….Seriously Are you kidding me?

2.  Since when is a bears life more important than a child’s either born or unborn?  Do you know how many children are aborted in a day in Europe?  and yet i hear no weeping for them.  i see no national or international media about them…..and what about the children who have been born?  those who are lft to starve to death because they have down’s Syndrome or some other serious illness ?   WWwwhat about those children.  Did you know that some European coutries deem these as NOT HUMAN.  Wwell I have news for them…this bear was not human either.  And for another thing UNBORN BABIES AND THOSE CHILDREN with disabilities ARE Humans  and yet their ethics are so messed up that they choose to elevate and mourn the loss of a bear….Lets look at Germany’s  abortion rate shall we!!

Oh and we Americans’, lets not think that we are “not as far gone ” as our couterparts over sees.  It was only a short while ago that something similar happened at the Seneca park Zoo in rochester NY where an unborn ellefant calf died before it was born.   And oh my the outpouring of grief which is just sickening…..

So what do you think the Abortion rate here in our country?
In 2008 there 1.21 MILLION abortions…that is roughly 19.6 abortions per 1,000 women (taken from fox News)

As i did the reseasrch for this i realized that the current year ending will not be released for another 2 years.  Apparently it takes that long to figureall this out…..SOOO all this being saidI would like to point out one last thing…..THERE SHOULD NOT BE CARDS AND LETTERS AND FLOWERS given to a bear.  they can’t read….they can’tunderstand.  yes they feel pain but really…They have no soul…  People do andi am so grateful that god saw fot to send His Son to die for my sins.  because the animal thing didn’t work.  read the Old Testament….Christ had to be the only sacrifice worthy of god’s acceptance!
